The transaction comprises the purchase of ordinary shares from two shareholder groups: France's Folliet Group, and the Voisin Group, comprising Jean-Luc Voisin and family members. Both groups will retain minority stakes in LVDM following completion, alongside existing shareholder Le Van Dong (LVDM’s CEO).
For C.P. Vietnam, the acquisition forms part of CPF's strategy to diversify its food business into Vietnam's growing beverage market, complementing its existing livestock, animal feed, and food operations in the country.
Jean-Luc Voisin, Founder of Les Vergers du Mekong, said: "This transaction will enable our company to reach the next level of growth through funding for a new fruit processing plant and the expansion of our international network, leveraging CP’s established presence. Our teams, values, and objectives since 2000 remain unchanged: (i) protecting our thousands of small-scale farmers, (ii) sharing the benefits of our growth with all our employees, (iii) guaranteeing healthy, pesticide-free finished products, and (iv) contributing to the protection of our planet through sustainable farming practices and by minimizing our carbon footprint as much as possible."
Founded in 2000, Les Vergers du Mekong is a Vietnamese producer of premium fruit juices, fruit purées, jams and coffee, operating a production facility in Can Tho city in the Mekong Delta.
