- A.P. Moller, VinaCapital invest in Vietnam's ALS Cargo Terminal: Danish infrastructure fund manager A.P. Moller Capital, in partnership with Vietnam’s VinaCapital, has invested in ALS Cargo Terminal, a key logistics operator at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport. The deal was made through A.P. Moller’s Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II (EMIF II), marking its third investment in South and Southeast Asia and its second in the air cargo sector. ALS currently handles up to 250,000 tonnes of cargo annually, with plans for expansion through automation, pricing optimization, and ESG initiatives. This move strengthens A.P. - Japan's Gakken, Vietnam's ABB buy majority stake in edtech firm QIG: Japan’s Gakken Holdings and Vietnam-based private equity firm ABB have jointly acquired a 54.5% majority stake in Quang Ich Technology Group (QIG), a leading Vietnamese edtech company specializing in learning management systems and digital education tools. Gakken now holds a 40.5% stake, while ABB owns 14%, marking a deepening partnership between the two firms following prior deals in Vietnam’s education sector. QIG’s platforms serve major cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong, and support over 500 schools and organizations.
